Biography

Marzieh Kashkouli was born in Isfahan, Iran, in 1989.

She received a B.S. degree in Plant Protection in 2011 and an M.S. degree in Agricultural Entomology in 2013 from  Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Iran. During M.S., she studied the potential of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) for the control of the onion thrips. In 2019, she received a Ph.D. in Entomology from Tarbiat Moderes University (TMU), Tehran, where she identified the symbionts and studied their role in three pistachio bugs. In February 2017, she joined the laboratory of Professor Claudio Bandi at Milan University in strict collaboration with the lab of Davide Sassera at the University of Pavia, as a visiting researcher to perform the genomic project of a Pantoa (the novel symbiont of Acrosternum arabicum). During 2019-2022, she published valuable papers and a book chapter for well-known publishers, joined national courses, and was a reviewer for some national and international journals. In 2022, she joined IUT as a postdoctoral researcher and a visiting professor of the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture Engineering. In the fall of 2023, she became an Assistant Professor in Research Institute for Biotechnology & Bioengineering, at Isfahan University of Technology, Iran. She was also continued her collaboration with Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture Engineering as a visiting professor. Her research interests include Genomics, Molecular Biology, Insect Pathology, and Bioinformatics.
